A month of (pictureless) catch ups

Okay, so April has passed and I spent the majority of it camera-less. And of course, following some unwritten Murphey's Law, tons of great picture worhty things happened in that month. Now that I have it safely back home watch there be a lull in the excitement!

Anyways, here are some of the things that happened that I have no visual proof of, but they happened all the same:

Garrett's adult two, front bottom teeth started to grow in behind his baby teeth - justifying the nickname "Shark Boy" - which didn't push the baby ones out. We took him into the dentist to get x-rays to see if they baby ones would come out on their own and ended up leaving there with a cute little necklace wrapped around his neck that held his two baby teeth and a mouthful of gauze to halt the bleedind og the two new holes in his mouth. (Insert missing picture number 1) Teagan had a wiggly tooth also, and being the considerate girl she is, thought it would be polite if she would get her tooth out on the same day so as to save the Tooth Fairy from having to make two trips to our house. So she asked herdaddy to get his pliers and pull her loose tooth (Insert missed picture number 2) In the end, the Tooth Fairy did only have to make one trip to our house, and since she wasn't really expecting to have had to come, it was sort of a crunch to come up with 3 silver dollars - she ended up being able to find 1 Sacagawea and 2 Susan B. Anthonys to give instead of her usual silver dollar. No one seemed to mind! She also always leaves a letter to the kids letting them know how they are doing on their tooth care and such. This time Tig left a note for her as well asking her what she looked like and what her name was...well, actually Tig thought "she" was a "he" thanks to the movie Santa Clause, so the Tooth Fairy politely explaned hat due to fairy protocol she couldn't leave her name, but she did leave a nice little pencil drawing of herself - verifying once and for all that she is infact a "she." She also leaves fairy dust on the kids pillows, and on their noses when she walks across their pillows and looks at their teeth. Garrett loved having fairy dust on him - he thought it was way neat! (Here is where picture #3 would go if I had it)

Another picture worthy thing that happened was one day we when it was pretty windy, we decided to skip house work and go fly kites at the stake center field (there aren't any power lines there like around our park near our house) Owen HATED it because it was too cold and he kept hiding in the corner of the field or sitting next to the car. But Teagan and Garrett had a ball. They were both able to get their kites to fly with all their string unwound - so that the kites were as high in the sky as they could go! (Insert picture #4) It was wonderfull!

I had also wanted to take more pictures of my little babies (from our last posting, which I do have to say, I had a ball with! A great big thanks goes out to those who actually called me up in shock while they read it so I was able to actually listen as the joke unfolded!) But once again, no camera was there to document our squashes first blossom, our marigolds blooming, or any of their other "firsts". (Insert pictures 5-10 here)

Also, a couple of weeks ago we got a care package from Granny, and we all know that when Granny send one of us something, everyone has something in the box as well. SO, she sent us 3 cans of Pork Fu (a delicious Thai dried pork food that looks like carpet fibers but taste much yummier!) since it is cheaper to buy in GA than here, and then she filled the rest of the box with treats for everyone. There were marshmallow bugs and animals, a bag of Reece's for Daddy, a jump rope for Teagan, a tube of mint bubbles for Garrett, and a yellow dog leash for Owen. When he first saw the pork fu you would have thought the little guy had just hit the jackpot - he can eat his weight of that stuff in one sitting! But when the leash came out and he found out what it was for - nothing else mattered. No pork fu, no marshmallow creatures, only dogs existed in his world! He immediately went and hooked Sherri up to it and took herfor a run around the house. Then Odie had to have a turn. After Odie came James' turn for a drag around the house. It was so cute to see all of his doggies trailing behind a little running Owen! No real dog would have survived the "walks" he took his stuffed ones on! (Insert invisable pictures 11-14 here...sigh)

Garrett had his photo shoot with Angie on the 10th - would have loved to take pictures of her taking pictures of him, but that's already been established! They came out pretty cute. We chose a picture that is a close up of his cute little smile and him in a big brown hat. Most of her pictures were of him with a serious face instead of his perpetual laughing grin - she is more the urban, GAP sort of photographer. She's really good, but just a new style for Garrett who is silly 95% of the day!

And the list just goes on... picture after long lost picture... April was a good month for us, we'll see how May is! It snowed about 4 times in April out here, we are wanting to put our plant babies in a more permanent home (rather than our dining room floor) but we still have to wait a couple more weeks to get out of danger of another late frost killing them. (I made that mistake last year with that batch of little ones.) Hopefully I will have just as many picture taking opportunities this month as I did for last month!
