A Weekend with Grandma and Grandpa

This past weekend our little family had visitors... Grandma and Grandpa J. They both flew in on Friday and then had to fly home on Sunday, so it was a bit of a whirlwind trip for them, but it was so much fun for the kids! Grandpa J. had just gotten married in July, so it was a lot of fun for us to get to know our newest member in the extended family. And it was a nice chance for them to get to meet our newest member in our family, Emmett.
On Friday we took them to the BYU plantarium to see a show on the November sky. It was presented by a young teenage girl and was a lot of fun. She explained a lot of the constellations and used a lot of "this dude" and "like" and all those other fun teen phrases. Afterwards we used the heavy duty telescopes there on campus to look at Jupiter, the Pleades, a globular nebula, and other really neat things.

Then on Saturday we took a nice drive up into the canyon to see the sights around Sundance and then had a great picnic at one of the parks. The weather was absolutely perfect! The sun was shining, there were beautiful clouds up in the sky, the food was yummy...life was good!

Later that night we spent at home playing games and just hanging out.
And then, all of a sudden it was Sunday morning and time for us to drive them back to the airport. The kids were very upset about that. Especially Owen. He had woken up at 7 that morning asking if we could go get them from their hotel yet and continued to ask every half an hour or so until it was actually time.
It was a fast, fun, fantastic weekend for us!
