Installment #3 of our Naomi time
On Thursday the 14th, Scott had no classes, so he was able to play with us and Naomi. He drove us up to the Jordanelle campgrounds to go hiking along some boardwalks up there. We had been camoing there in the summer, but we weren't ready for what got today! It was much colder than we anticipated, and the hoodies and light jackets were a little too light for the chilly weather up there, but we stuck it out and had a fun hike all the same!
It was coldest along this bridge where the wind whipped even faster along the river!

Scott and I wanted to get some pictures of Naomi, Teagan, and I together and I think it was worth it even if it was frigid...we don't get to see my nieces or nephews very often, so I snag as many pictures of them as I can when I can!
Naomi started out being really cold (since she has like zero percent body fat!), but after hiking a good bit, she was ready to start a snowball fight with the kids and ended up having a fun time playing in the snow.
Emmerson thought the big kid's snowball fight was funny and wanted to hit Daddy with a snowball too! He chased him and chased him and giggled when he finally got close enough to tag Daddy with the snowball he made.
He thought he was such big stuff getting to hike all by himself...we had brought a stroller, but ended up dragging it along empty because he liked crunching in the snow with the others.
After the snowball fight, Naomi wanted to make snow angels. For some reason they did them right there on the boardwalk instead of finding some fresh snow somewhere else...the came out a little squished, but it made it fun for them to 'walk' all over each other's snow angels.
She also left messages along the sides...I guess for whoever came along after us...because hiking in the snow in April is such a popular thing to do? We pretended it was meant for us, but I am thinking that she probably wrote it, snatched a phone pic of it, and sent it along to her favorite boy:-) That sounds more 16-year-old-ish! But me in my happy little world, snagged a picture for my own happiness and will log it away with the little notes I used to get from her when she was six!
On the way out, we drove by a pair of falcons building a nest and got to watch them for a while. They were beautiful birds, but their nest needed a lot of work!
Then we drove up to Sundance to walk around the ski resort. Teagan's favorite part was the nice bathroom sinks and hand dryers they had there..crazy kid! Although, they were pretty cool ~ you've got to love automated things!

The mountains around the resort were beautiful. And even though it was only around 42 degrees, it felt fairly warm...this was light jacket and hoodie sort of weather.
Scott thought the yurts looked neat and wanted a picture with them in the background... I thought the mountains alone would have been a better backdrop, but since he had the camera in his hands, yurts it was.
It was a cold but fun day playing in the mountains. We had to get Scott home in enough time to go to work, so it ended a little early. But we ended up having some of my friends come over to play some card games that night, and it was more like a Friday night than a Thursday night!
