We made it through another one!

We made it through another fever cycle with Emmett this past week and we are all cheering! This was his ninth cycle, but it wasn't the worst of them, so that was another happy thought for us! His fever stayed under 105 this time, and amazingly, this cycle was the first that didn't come with any seizures - so there are more hip hip hoorays! We finally saw his great smile today after a week of dealing with this little guy.

Another piece of good news is that after charting the last three cycles, we are now ready to go take him to see a specialist to try and figure out what is causing them!! We tried getting him this week WHILE he was fevering so they could do blood work or whatever they needed, but the earliest we could get in was in a week and a half.

Hopefully we will be able to figure it out soon, and hopefully be able to prevent many more of them.... they're scary and tough!

This past week Teagan and Scott went to a Daddy/daughter activity - a barn dance sort of thing and this was Tig's Wanted poster that they had hanging on the wall when they got there. All the little girls had their own poster and it was really cute! They danced and ate cowboy foods and had a fun time.She loves the once a year Daddy/daughter dances that they have in her Activity Days girls group!

As for Owen, this was him this morning...

He was stung by a bee yesterday and his right arm swelled up quite a bit and was still and painful, so I kept him on Benadryl for most of the day. It didn't knock him out, but it sure did buzz him! He was slow and groggy and ornery! So last night he slept it off and woke up with a bed head and a better attitude ~ yippee! The sting looks better today - it isn't so hot and it has changed from a dark purple to a lighter pink/red. He has moved into the itchy stage of stings, so he isn't too pleased with that, but I told him he only has a couple more days to go before it will be all over.

And last, but not least is my G-man. The poor dude thinks he is going crazy! We have been working on long division this week and he says his brain is leaking out his ears... after seeing this picture, he might have some validity to what he says! He is good at division, but still a little slow at it. I keep telling him that it will get more and more natural as he practices, but he tried to tell me that he didn't need to learn to do it on paper, that's what calculators are for. And he wasn't really going to use it a lot anyways because he was going to either a race car driver or a Marine when he grows up and they don't use math a whole lot. So for the rest of the day we worked on word problems that centered around those two careers :-) He was a believer that math is everywhere when we were done!

So that has been my week. I'm still working on editing 700 wedding/reception pictures, and finishing a 2 hour long photo slide show for a family reunion... I think life might resume some normalcy once those two projects are done...but then again, maybe not!
