How the S.S.Lucky Lost its Luck - a story by Garrett

There once lived a sad, little man - Gas Pumper Garrett. He had worked at the gas station his whole life. Nothing exciting ever seemed to happen to him. Then one day he got a letter in the maiil saying that his Uncle Robert had died and left Garrett his boat, the S.S.Lucky. Gas Pumper Garrett felt that something exciting was finally happening to him. He went to the dock to see the ship he had been left. When he got there, he was shocked to see that it was three stories tall and was flying a jolly roger... his uncle had been a pirate!

He wasn't just 'Uncle Robert', he was Bab Bob the pirate, so Gas Pumper Garrett changed his name to Gruesome Garrett and he became a pirate like his uncle. He set sail that very afternoon.

Two months after leaving port they came upon another ship. This boat belonged to Walk the Plan Willy; he had been Bad Bob's brother and rival.

When Walk the Plank Willy say Bad Bob's ship coming he opened fire and shot a cannonball towards them. It flew straight towards the S.S.Lucky, but was too high and it sailed over them. He aimed again and fired, but this time he was too low and it flew into the water and scared a baracuda out of its hole. With his final cannonball, Walk the Plank Willy aimed and shot a ball right into the bow of Gruesome Garrett's ship.

Gruesome Garrett looked over the railing onto the side of the ship and saw a humongous hole. It was near the top of the ship, going right through the name on the side of the ship.

"Oh no," cried Gruesome Garrett. "I've lost all my luck!"

The cannonball hole had blasted L-U-C-K right out of "S.S.Lucky." Gruesome Garrett looked down and sadly said, "I guess I need to change the boat's name to the S.S. Hole-y now."

Walk the Plank Willy had been watching through a telescope and realized that the pirate on board was not his rival, Bad Bob, but was his long lost son. So he called and immediate halt on firing and raised a white flag up and sailed over and introduced himself and told Gruesome Garrett who he really was.

They hugged and laughed and vowed to be nice to each other and to all other pirates. Then they sailed back to shore and started their own pirate business together: Will and Garrett's Pirate Emporium.

And they lived Pirate-y ever after.
