And this was after I had already put away a case of Spaghetti Sauce! We went to my in-law's and canned and canned and canned. I came home with 17 qts of spaghetti sauce, 11 qts of peaches, 3 1/2 qts stewed tomatoes, 12 pints of salsa, 3 1/2 qts bread and butter pickles, 2 pints plums, 3 pints grape jelly, 5 pints peach jam, 7 pints peach freezer jam, 2 pints raspberry jam, 6 1/2 qts pears, 5 pints jello-ed peaches, 2 bags dried persimmons, and 4 bags of dried apple rings. It was a busy weekend, but it feels great to get all sorts of things like this accomplished! We gave some of everything we made to each of the other kids in the family also...sharing the wealth so to say... and this was still what I came home with! I am so excited! We already opened up a jar of pickles, and they were yummy, and we had spaghetti for dinner today with our new sauce!
It was fun, and we did do more than just can, and peel, and core, and boil, and clean, and squish, and...and..and. We went down to Hurricane, Utah to visit more family and went hiking, so that will be another post for another day when my kids aren't chomping at the bit to go to soccer practice!

Wow! Looks like you had a busy weekend! Everything looks so pretty -- doesn't it give you a good feeling of satisfaction when you can look over all you've done and be pleased with it? And that you are doing your part in gathering food storage for your family? Someone else can give you a quart of tomatoes and that's good -- but when you can those tomatoes yourself, well, that's a whole different story!
You did good, sweetie!
You put me to shame! You are such a domestic diva! :)
