Today for school snack the two little boys and I passed out mini Popsicles - they are cute, almost drip-free, and are in shapes like squares, triangles, etc, what's not to love?
We'd just gotten them last night at the store, and the kids were all excited to try them out today. We each got a different color and shape, so we were sort of show-and-telling each other what flavors they were and letting each other smell them, but Owen wanted to let everyone taste his rectangle-green-lime pop since he thought it was so yummy. First he held it out to Garrett to take a lick, which he did and smiled at the flavor. Then, without thinking about what he was doing, when Garrett's turn was done, Owen took his Popsicle, stuck it under his arm and "wiped" off Garrett's "germs" in the armpit part of his shirt, then passed it to Tig for her taste. She took and it and stuck it in her mouth before her brain caught up to her and she realized what she had just seen. When the message finally made it to her brain she dropped the pop so quickly and a wonderfully funny face!
That's when I gave the kids another one of those tidbits of wisdom that they will forever be changed by, "Please don't wipe your popsicle in your armpit."
