Duncan's Two Month Old Pictures

Life with Duncan is just getting sweeter and sweeter! He is such a wonderful baby! He has this calm, relaxed attitude and is still so patient and rarely fusses or cries at all. When he does fuss it is usually because he is either cold, has a stinky diaper, or is really hungry.
After having Emmett who would wake up 5-7 times a night up until he was over 2 years old, I wanted to do things differently with Duncan. A friend suggested the book Baby Wise, with it's suggestions on how to train your baby to sleep through the night by eight weeks old. Here we are with Duncan being 10 weeks old, and since I've used the book's suggestions, he usually gives me a 6-8 hour stretch every night! And it is a nice chunk of time that falls from about 10pm-5am. I'm loving it!
He is starting to be a social little guy, too. If you can get him to focus and make eye contact with you, he will smile and coo and talk to you for a long time. And his little smile just melts my heart and makes everything in the world seem fine and wonderful!
His eyes seem to be staying blue. Teagan has her fingers crossed that they will stay blue so she will have a blue-eyed buddy in the family with her and Scott. And since his hair is still so light we are excited to see is he goes as platinum as Owen did, or stays light blonde like Teagan was.
Emmy is still infatuate with him and asks for him first thing in the morning as soon as he wakes up. There have been times that I have actually had to hide Duncan from him for a little while so Duncan could get a little nap! That is weird! I hope these two will be good friends as they grow up.
The other kids love Duncan, too, but Emmett has such a deeper and more intense love for his baby than they do.
Duncan is still eating every three hours during the day, and putting on weight like he's afraid his food will run out! He is starting to get little tire rolls on his thighs, fluffy little arms, and a tiny little double chin. All that soft skin to kiss and lather in baby lotion to make him smell delicious! It's heavenly!!
It might have only been two months, but this little guy has already brought our family so much happiness.
It makes me feel all the more sad for those people in our family history who we've found who had their little children die too early. When I read on paper that so-and-so's baby died at only two months old, it's sad, but I've thought, "hey, at least it wasn't a 10 year old, or someone who they knew really well and were super attached to." But looking at my little Duncan, if he weren't here anymore, it would be just as devastating as if my 10 year old weren't here. Two-month-olds have just as much personality and individuality as anyone else.
